Changes for Holy Priests in 3.2

The newest Patch, 3.2, is on the PTR and it will come with alot of new content, new items sets, and like always alot changes for all classes.

For us holy priests there aren't to many changes (yet). The biggest change is a nerf of our Prayer of Healing.

Prayer of Healing: The percentage of spell power this spell gains in healing (per target) has been reduced from 80.7% to 52.6%.

Here are some numbers helping you do decide if you want to stack some haste. The number in the column GH and FH are the casting times depending on Haste.

The Base casting time used for the calculation for GH is 2.5 second.

Choosing the right talents for you is one of the most important things to optimize your healing success. For holy priest there is nothing like a "best talents"; depending on the healing style of a player, everyone will put some points different.

Mana regeneration

Mana generation in 3.1

Mana generation is a very important isue for priests. Here some numbers helping you decide to choose the right stats for your items or gems.

With the 3.1 patch the mana generation has been changed again, and spirit affects it now 40% less then before.

The new formula for calculating the mana regeneration is:
\[ 0.0167 * spirit * \sqrt{intellect} \]

Talents marked with * are talents every holy priest should have.

Healing Focus

Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting any healing spell by 35/70%.

This talent wass a pretty useless talent for mostly raiding holy priest, because in instances before Ulduar you normaly didn't get attacked to much, or it was no big deal to be interrupted from time to time.

Discipline Talents

Unbreakable Will
Reduces the duration of Stun, Fear, and Silence effects done to you by an additional 3%.

Usefull for PvP, but for a Holy PvE Priest, it is better to put your 5 points in Twin Disciplines

Twin Disciplines
Increases the damage and healing done by your instant spells by 1%.

Nice talent as you get more healing output from CoH, Renew. Stacks additively with
Improved Renew and Spiritual Healing.

Silent Resolve
Reduces the threat generated by your Holy and Discipline spells and reduces the chance your spells will be dispelled.
